Steve McGowan CertFinAdvice is a specialist Licensed Mortgage Adviser in non-bank mortgages with 32 years experience in finance and 22 of those years servicing Kiwi families that trusted him with their mortgage finance. Steve has solved many situations others could not simply by having hands on experience - so you know you'll get expert advice.

Steve's ongoing commitment to doing what is best for people was recognised when Steve was publicly acknowledged and thanked by Kevin Milne of TV One's Fair Go program for helping families who were caught up in questionable "buy back" schemes. 

With the investigative nous of Simon Mercep, all five families had their homes returned to them.

Steve first brought a case to Fair Go and this resulted in more cases approaching the popular programme. It was one of Fair Go's longest running campaign and resulted in New Zealand Parliament amending the Consumer Finance Act to include a special section on buy back deals.

Steve has been a Mortgage Adviser since 2001. His first exam through AdviserLink he passed the  Certificate for Essentials in Mortgage Broking with Honours in April 2003. 

 

In 2023, Steve achieved an Excelling Outcome of a GPA of 7 at Massey University, Auckland.

Overall grade of  A-  for Certificate in Financial Advice (CertFinAdvice)
